A portion of Cameron Park Zoo was evacuated Monday morning after a construction worker cut a gas line.
Officials at the zoo said it happened shortly after 9 a.m. Zoo staff immediately cornered off the area, near the Brazos River Country and the Herpetarium exhibits.
Zoo staff said a construction crew was working on a new exhibit when the line was accidentally cut.
Visitors and animals nearby were moved away from the area as a safety precaution.
The exhibits were reopened by 1:30 p.m.
