WACO, Texas – Senior outfielder Linsey Hays was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division I Softball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Hays was picked for the second team, released by the organization on Thursday morning.
The fifth-year senior from Brock, Texas maintained a 3.62 GPA as a graduate student, earning her master’s degree in Sport Management.
Hays left a lasting legacy on the field and in the school’s record books, breaking the Baylor career and season doubles record, and finishing her career in the top-five in RBI, total bases, and home runs.
As the ninth Lady Bear to earn the Academic All-America honor, Hays picked up the 13th total selection for the program, joining Kim Wilmoth (three-time), Naomi Fitzgerald (two-time), Tiffany Wesley (two-time), Ryan Stukel, Kelly Osburn, Alex Colyer, Nicole Wesley, and Whitney Canion.
Canion was the most recent selection, earning second team honors in 2014.
