EUGENE, Oregon – No. 2-seed Baylor softball (43-12) open its 2016 NCAA postseason run against Long Beach State on Friday, May 20 at 8:00 p.m. PT/6:00 p.m. CT at Jane Sanders Stadium.
The Friday contest will be the second meeting between to two squads, with Long Beach State winning the only previous matchup.
The Lady Bears finished the 2016 regular season second in the Big 12 and No. 13 in the NCAA RPI, as well as finishing 17th in the ESPN poll and 21st in the coaches poll.
Baylor is 38-23 all-time in postseason play, including a 27-17 mark away from Waco and Getterman Stadium.
Since head coach Glenn Moore’s arrival in 2001, Baylor made its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2004, and since then, have missed the tournament just twice (2008, 2010).
Fans that can't make the trek to Oregon can catch the game on ESPN 2 and the WatchESPN app, with Mark Neely and Danielle Lawrie on the call.
