The McLennan Highlassies swept the Cisco Lady Wranglers on the road today.
The Highlassies needed an extra inning to defeat the Lady Wranglers 7-3 in game one. Kayleigh Williams picked up the win in the circle, recording seven strikeouts in eight innings.
McLennan scored two runs in the top of the first. Dariann Resendez led off with a home run. Marisa Flores and Theresa Gonzales drew back-to-back walks. Flores advanced to third on an overthrow and scored on single by Serena Saldivar.
Cisco got on the board with a run in the bottom of the sixth as Celeste Silva doubled and scored on a double by Kahlie Barrett.
The Highlassies added a run on Andrea Gonzales' home run in the top of the seventh.
The Lady Wranglers tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the seventh. Bethany Sullivan was safe at first on an error and Alexia Rowe singled. Both runners advanced on an overthrow and scored on a double by Courtney Owens.
McLennan sealed the win with four runs in the top of the eighth. Victoria Gonzales drew a walk and stole her way around to third. Elizabeth Svienty bunted for a single. Saldivar followed with a single to score Victoria Gonzales. Angelina Camacho reached first safely and moved to second on on an error, bringing Svienty in to score. Andrea Gonzales followed with a double, scoring Saldivar and Camacho.
The Highlassies defeated the Lady Wranglers 3-1 in the night cap with Chanlynn Turner getting the win in the circle.
McLennan began the scoring with two runs in the top of the first. Resendez singled and stole second. Flores drew a walk and Theresa Gonzales singled, bringing Resendez in to score. Victoria Gonzales then hit into a double play, bringing Flores in to score.
Cisco's only run came in the bottom of the fourth as Jaylee Roberts doubled and came around to score on an overthrow.
The Highlassies' final run came in the top of the sixth on Theresa Gonzales' home run.
