Waco Police say an AT&T electrical worker found dead on a ladder Friday morning died of "violent acts."

Police, fire and ETMC units were called to the scene on the 1400 block of Barron Avenue. Neighbors said they called the police after seeing smoke coming from the alley.

"I was like, 'I know AT&T is not burning trash out here.' And I walked around to the alley, saw the fire going, got closer, seen ... it was a body ... on fire," Michael Harris said.

On scene, officers found 61-year-old Kenneth Wayne Cleveland near the ladder. Police initially said it was possible he was electrocuted.

Additional investigation at the scene and information from the medical examiner indicate that Cleveland died from violent injuries.

Official autopsy results are pending.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and ask anyone with information to call 254-750-4614.
