One man died and two others were injured after they crashed into a tree around 1 a.m. Saturday.
Officials said a Texas DPS Trooper attempted to make a traffic stop on a Toyota Tundra that was traveling southbound on SH-95 near Little River Academy. The Toyota reportedly sped up traveling towards Holland and lost control, striking a tree.
The 24-year-old male driver, identified as Jordan Daniel Mooney, from Temple died at the scene.
A 30-year-old female passenger, Many Jade Bly from Belton, was injured in the wreck and flown to Parkland in Dallas. A second male passenger, a 22-year-old Coy Phillip Tubbs from Temple, was also injured and taken to Scott and White in Temple.
DPS is investigating the incident.
