Baylor Women’s Golf tied for Ninth at PING/ASU Invite

TEMPE, Ariz. – Baylor women’s golf is tied for ninth place at 17-over-par 593 after carding a 5-over 293 in Saturday’s second round at the PING/ASU Invitational at the ASU Karsten Golf Course.

Laura Lonardi shot 2-under 70 in her second round to climb 16 spots into a tie for seventh place at 1-under-par 143. Maria Vesga shot 1-over 73 in her second round and is tied for 21st place at 1-over-par 145. Giovana Maymon is 5-over-par 149 through two rounds and climbed 10 spots to tie for 37th place after shooting even-par on Saturday. Maggie Beth Byers (+14, 158) and Lauren Whyte (+14, 158) are tied for 69th place after shooting second-round scores of 6-over 78 and 8-over 80, respectively.

UCLA (-8) leads the 14-team field by one stroke, with tournament-host Arizona State (-7) trailing in second place. Alabama (-2) is third, followed by UNLV (E), Arizona (+3), Northwestern (+7), Texas (+9), Washington (+12) and Baylor (+17) and Oregon State (+17) tied for 9th place. The Bears are ahead of Colorado (+20), Washington State (+23), Denver (+34) and Hawaii (+45).
