A suspect involved in last week's shooting at Belton park on Easter has been arrested in in Louisiana.
Officials say Kevin Petit was arrested by U.S. Marshals near New Roads, Louisiana. Marshals said they were tipped off to Petit's family lived in the area.
Point Coopee Parish officers spotted Petit's vehicle with Texas plates and pulled him over. He was arrested without incident.
Petit was arrested in connection to a shooting at an Easter celebrating Sunday afternoon.
Police said the shooting happened shortly after 5 p.m. during a family gathering at Heritage Park in Belton.
An argument took place between two people and one man was shot in the arm and leg.
The victim was was taken to Baylor Scott & White in Temple and his condition is unknown at this time.
Petit is awaiting extradition back to Bell County.
