Two men are behind bars after leading sheriff deputies on a chase Tuesday morning.

According to the Bell County Sheriff's Office, deputies attempted to make a traffic stop near the intersection of Kuykendall Mountain Road and Moffat Road.

After the vehicle wouldn't stop, a chase began.

Officials said the driver, 29-year-old Cody Villarreal, went off the road and hit several metal support cables for an electric pole plus a stop sign.

Once deputies were able to stop Villarreal, they were able to arrest him and his passenger, 29-year-old Vincent Knight.

Deputies recovered more than two pounds of marijuana and THC edible Gummy Bear candies inside the vehicle.

An investigation is still on going and charges are being screen with the District Attorney’s office.

Both men are in custody at the Bell County Jail.
