WACO, Texas – The Baylor men's golf team is headed to the 11th-annual Linger Longer Invitational, which runs Sunday through Tuesday and is hosted by Kennesaw State and Mercer at Great Waters Golf Club in Greensboro, Ga.
The three-day, 54-hole event, will be played on the par-72, 7,073-yard tournament course, most noted for its designer, Jack Nicklaus. No. 26 Baylor is one of 13 teams in the field including No. 12 Alabama, No. 39 Augusta, Charlotte, No. 2 Georgia, Kennesaw State, Louisville, Mercer, Missouri, No. 25 Purdue, South Alabama, UNC Greensboro and No. 21 Virginia.
The Bears enter the tournament coming off a victory at the Border Olympics, where they shot 20-under-par 556, winning the tournament for a second-straight season and climbing to No. 26 in the latest GolfStat team rankings.
Baylor’s lineup features Andreas Gjesteby, Frederik Andersen, Braden Bailey, Matthew Perrine and Garrett May. Hunter Shattuck will play as an individual.
All three rounds are scheduled for tee times on the first and 10th holes. Baylor players will begin Sunday’s first round from the first tee in pairings with players from Alabama and Kennesaw State. May is up first at 8:30 a.m, CT and he’ll be followed in 10-minute intervals by Perrine, Bailey, Andersen and Gjesteby. Shattuck will begin on the 10th tee at 10:10 a.m.
