Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s tennis team swept through doubles and then weathered a pair of lightning delays as the Cru outlasted LeTourneau University 7-2 Friday in Belton. The UMHB women improve to 1-5 on the spring with the victory while the loss drops LeTourneau to 4-8 on the spring.
The Cru swept through doubles and posted 6-0, 6-0 wins at #4, #5 and #6 singles to lock up the win before the first lightning delay hit. LeTourneau would take victories at #1 and #2 singles before Haley Hicks gutted out a three-set win at #3 singles for UMHB to close it out more than six hours after the match started.
It will be a quick turnaround for the Cru. UMHB will host Austin College for an 11:00 AM start on Saturday.
