Boil water notice issue for several residents across Falls County

Posted

A boil water notice has been issued for several residents across Falls County.

Due to a break in the water main, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) are requiring the Levi Water Supply to notify Falls County residents on CR 427, CR 428, CR 5000, CR 5001 and private drives connecting to CR 427 that are being served by Levi Water Supply the need to boil their water prior to consumption.

Unless notified otherwise, the notice is in effect to 6:00 p.m. on March 21, 2016.

"To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making of ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use," a news release said. "The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source."

The Levi Water Supply will notify residents when the water is safe for consumption.

For any questions concerning this matter, you may contact Levi Water Supply at 254-857-3050.
