SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Jaylen Short had 14 points and 14 rebounds and made a key defensive play late as Lenorah Grady beat Coolidge 64-58 in a Class 1A semifinal Thursday.
Lenorah Grady led 61-58 with 22 seconds left when Short drew a charge from Coolidge forward Ro'Derick Calhoun that negated a basket. Lenorah Grady (30-4) then sealed the victory from the free-throw line and advanced to the championship game for the second straight season.
Kyle Garza scored 16 points and Cole Avery scored 14 for Lenorah Grady. There were 12 lead changes before Lenorah Grady went ahead for good on Garza's layup with 1:41 left.
Delvin Smith had 18 points for Coolidge (30-5) and Wanya Jones added 15.
