The McLennan Community College softball team is ranked 13th in the first regular season Marucci Sports Division I Softball Rankings released today by the NJCAA.
Central Florida is in first place, followed by Tyler (Texas) in second and Salt Lake (Utah) in third. Northwest Florida State and Chipola (Florida) round out the top five.
Weatherford (20th) is the only other Region V North team to make the poll. Galveston (sixth), Howard (15th) and Blinn (18th) round out the Texas schools in the poll. Temple, the top-ranked team in the preseason poll, dropped from the rankings.
The Highlassies have an overall record of 17-5 and are 4-0 in conference play.
