(KXXV) - A McLennan County grand jury will re-convene March 23 and consider more indictments of bikers arrested in the Twin Peaks shootings last year, according to a courthouse source.
There are still 70-80 bikers who were arrested but have not been indicted after that deadly incident in Waco. Nine people were killed and more than 20 others injured in the shootings.
More than 180 bikers were arrested on organized crime charges, and a little over a hundred of those have been indicted. It's likely some will face more charges after lab tests on DNA samples and ballistics from weapons seized that day are completed.
The upcoming grand jury may not get through hearing all the remaining criminal cases in just one more meeting. The first trial for a Twin Peaks biker is set for April.
