A second man accused of stealing from a local Mexican restaurant where he worked is joining his fellow accused thief behind bars.
Derick Daniel Allen and Keith Schroeder were both employed at La Fiesta restaurant in Waco. According to the affidavit, Allen and Schroeder became aware of a defect in the restaurant's gift card system that allowed a gift card to be used without the amount being deducted from the actual card.
Police say between February and April of 2015, Allen is accused of stealing $2,557.93 and Schroeder is accused of stealing $2,259.87.
Allen was booked into the McLennan County Jail overnight Tuesday after Schroeder was arrested back in May.
