IRVING, Texas (AP) - As expected, Dez Bryant is a no-show for the start of the Dallas Cowboys mandatory offseason minicamp.

Bryant has not signed his franchise tag, and there is only a month before the deadline for the Pro Bowl receiver to work out a long-term deal with the Cowboys or play this season for $12.8 million.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Tuesday that Bryant is working hard on his own and that his absence isn't a unique situation for a player with the franchise tag.

While Bryant is absent, Garrett says linebacker Rolando McClain is present and will participate in walkthroughs without rigorous activity.

McClain had 108 tackles last season, but is recovering from offseason arthroscopic knee surgery. He missed earlier offseason team activities while rehabbing at home in Alabama.
