A 29-year-old Bellmead man is behind bars in the McLennan County Jail accused of trying to strangle his girlfriend.
Aaron Lee Crane was arrested and taken to jail on a charge of assault of a household member, impeding breathing.
Bellmead PD officers were called about a domestic disturbance at a home in the 800 block of Lewis at 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Police report finding an argument that had escalated from verbal levels. During the argument, Crane is accused of putting his hands around his girlfriend's throat.
Crane was arrested at the scene and taken to jail.
