A former employee of the Jack Harwell Detention Center in Waco was sentenced to two years deferred adjudication probation and a $500 fine Wednesday for having sex with an inmate.

Regina Antoinette Edwards pleaded guilty to improper sexual activity with a person in custody. Edwards, who was 47-years-old when she was arrested, worked for a contractor who operated the detention center and was not a McLennan County employee.

Another woman she worked with, then 22-year old Dorothy Pennington, was arrested on the same charge in September of 2013.
