Police have made an arrest in a violent burglary case from last October that sent a Waco man to the hospital with significant injuries.
Larry Lessley Howard has been charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felonies in connection with the burglary that happened at a home in the 3500 block of Bosque Blvd., in the morning hours back in October 2014.
The victim told police the burglar broke into his house, and when the resident discovered the burglar was inside his home, the burglar began beating him with a wooden mallet. The burglar also reportedly demanded money and a cell phone.
The burglar then fled, but investigators were able to identify him as Larry Howard through DNA left on the mallet, which he dropped and left behind as he fled.
The victim told police he had never seen his attacker before.
