A 42-year-old Belton man was arrested after being indicted by a Bell County Grand Jury on an indecency with a child charge.
William Eugene Ballard was indicted on the indecency with a child by sexual contact charge, stemming from a report received in April 2014.
The initial report was received by the Bell County Sheriff's Department on April 18, 2014, from a victim who now lives in Michigan, of an incident that happened at a Bell County home on Dog Ridge Rd.
The case was referred to the Special Crimes Unit for investigation. On April 17, 2015, the case was given to the Bell County District Attorney's Office for felony screening.
A Bell County Grand Jury issued the indictment for Ballard, who authorities report turned himself in to the Bell County Jail, and was later released after posting $75,000 bond.
