Local police have arrested a man accused of assaulting a woman, causing her to drop her child, during an incident back in April.

Police say this happened sometime during the noon hour on April 26 at an apartment in the 5000 block of Sanger Ave. Darius Wormly is accused of crawling into the apartment through a window that had been broken out, and confronting his girlfriend, who is the mother of his child.

Wormly is accused of assaulting the woman while she was holding a baby, causing her to drop the baby. Another person in the room scooped up the baby and fled into another room, before calling 911, at which time, Wormly fled.

Investigators got arrest warrants for Wormly and found him Wednesday, May 13. He is charged with burglary-assault family violence and endangering a child-family violence, along with charges for outstanding traffic warrants. He remains in the McLennan County Jail.
