UPDATE: Following an investigation, authorities have ruled a February double fatal shooting involving a mother and son in Coryell County as a murder-suicide.
Dana Lynn Barnes, who was employed on Fort Hood as a civil service employee, and her son, Sean Jacob Barnes, were found dead in a Coryell County home in the 1000 block of Highway 107, just east of Gatesville, on February 12.
The Coryell County Sheriff's Office investigated the 40-caliber handgun recovered at the scene, along with other leads. They determined Sean Barnes shot his mother, before going into the garage and killing himself.
