Fire crews were called to two separate fires that were just blocks away from each other in Waco Tuesday morning.
The house fires were reported in the 2100 block of Homan Ave. and near 21st and Colcord about 9:30 a.m.
Crews say the house on Homan was abandoned, with the blaze starting in the back of the house. Firefighters were able to contain the flames shortly after arriving. The full extent of the damage is not yet known, but there was damage to the back of the house. They are still investigating the cause.
Reports are that the fire near 21st and Colcord was nothing major. No word yet on if that house was abandoned.
