GATESVILLE, TX — Gatesville ISD has released its revised "return-to-play" policies and guidelines for the 2020-2021 school year.

The district says all playing venues will be limited to 50% of seating capacity. All fans will be required to wear masks to enter each athletic facility.

Signs will be posted at all venue entrances regarding COVID-19 symptoms for fans to view and self-check.

Fans or spectators will not be allowed on any playing field or court before or after any contest until all coaches and athletes have left the area.

Gatesville ISD says no season tickets will be sold during the 2020 varsity football season. All tickets will be sold on a weekly basis. Each person must have a ticket to enter the stadium.

Parents of students directly involved with Friday-night game activities such as football, band, cheer, dance and flags will be given priority.

"Other than coaches and players, parents are the next most involved," Gatesville Athletic Director Rickey Phillips said. "We would hate for any parent, especially parents of seniors, to not see their kid perform."

Tickets may be purchased at the home-entrance ticket booth located at the football stadium front gate located on Marshall Street.

"I think when we open these doors our first Friday home game, we're gonna find that people want to be here," Phillips said.

For away games, the district will receive an allotment from that week's opponent. Tickets will be sold on Wednesday and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Gatesville ISD has contracted with Hornet Radio to provide video and audio live-streaming of all varsity football games and selected games in other sports during the school year. There will be no charge for fans wanting to view the broadcasts.

GISD Athletics will offer all-sport season passes, which can be purchased at regular ticket sale times. However, the passes do not cover varsity football games.

As of now, there will be no pre-sale of tickets for sub-varsity and junior high football games as well as volleyball games.
