Aggies softball drops second straight to LSU

COLLEGE STATION, TX — Texas A&M Softball fell to the 10th-ranked LSU Tigers, 7-0, Saturday afternoon at Davis Diamond.

The Tigers (21-4, 2-0 SEC) got out to an early 2-0 lead in the first and added three runs in the third, one in the sixth and one in the seventh.

Morgan Smith, Riley Sartain and Baylee Klingler recorded the Aggies’ three hits against LSU pitcher Shelbi Sunseri. Kelbi Fortenberry extended her on-base streak to 15 games after earning two walks.

Payton McBride suffered the loss to move to 7-1 on the year. The junior allowed six runs on 12 hits and one walk, while fanning three in 5.0 innings. Kendall Potts closed out the game, only allowing two hits and one run while recording one strikeout.
