FAYETTEVILLE, AR — The Texas A&M men's golf team advanced to the final round of stroke play after earning a seventh-place finish (296-287-301=884, +20) through three rounds of stroke play at NCAA Championships, played at The Blessings Golf Club (par 72/7,550 yards). The top 15 teams advanced to Monday's stroke play final as Oklahoma State led the field at 12-under.

"We got out to a slow start today, but I was really proud of Chandler [Phillips] and Walker [Lee], they really held it together and put together some nice rounds," said head coach J.T. Higgins. "We didn't finish very strong, but the course played so tough. We just have to go have a good round tomorrow to make sure we get into match play."

Sophomore Walker Lee again led the Aggies as he tied for 17th (71-74-73=218) through three rounds, making four birdies on a 1-over day. Senior Chandler Phillips climbed the leaderboard to tie for 23rd (78-70-72=220) shooting even in the third round.

"Tomorrow we just need to get off to a little bit better start, if we play like we did in the first two rounds we'll be in," said Higgins. "Our goal here has been to get to match play and be in the final eight. After that we will take it one-by-one and see if we can't play for a national championship Wednesday."
