Aggie softball hosts midweek tilt against SFA

COLLEGE STATION, TX — Texas A&M Softball begins a 10-game homestand Wednesday with a 5 p.m. contest against SFA at Davis Diamond.

The game can be seen on SEC Network +, and authenticated subscribers can access the stream through WatchESPN and the ESPN app on their computers, mobile phones, tablets, smart TVs and other connected devices.

The Aggies (16-11, 1-5 SEC) are led offensively by Kelbi Fortenberry and Payton McBride, who top the team with .457 and .362 batting averages, respectively. Riley Sartain leads the team in multiple offensive categories, including home runs (6), walks (12), doubles (7), total bases (49) and slugging percentage (.721).

In the circle, McBride paces the pitching staff with seven wins. Kendall Potts has tallied four wins as Kayla Poynter has added three and Hannah Mayo has recorded two.

The Ladyjacks enter with a 15-12 (3-3 SLC) record and are led offensively by Corona Margarita, who is batting .333 with five homers and 18 RBI. Brittany Crawford has added four dingers and 16 RBI. Kassidy Wilbur leads the pitching staff with nine victories and a 2.16 ERA.

Texas A&M and SFA have previously met 63 times with the Aggies leading the series, 58-5. Last season, the Maroon & White blanked SFA, 4-0, on Valentine's Day. Texas A&M has won the last 12 meetings, with the last Ladyjack win coming on March 8, 2009, in College Station.
