Aggie softball downed by Houston

COLLEGE STATION, TX — Texas A&M Softball fell to Houston, 9-3, Wednesday night at Cougar Softball Stadium.

The Aggies (9-6) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead as Riley Sartain blasted a two-run homer in the first, her fifth of the season, before Kylie George plated Blake-Ann Fritsch on an infield single in the second.

After scoring its first run in the second, Houston (12-5) rallied to take the lead in the third, recording six runs. The Cougars added to their advantage in the sixth on a two-run homer.

Kendall Potts was saddled with loss as the righty allowed five runs on two hits and three walks in two innings. Kayla Poynter threw 3.1 innings of relief to close out the game.
