A&M Softball loses opener to Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, TN — Texas A&M Softball fell to No. 11 Tennessee, 4-1, in the series opener Friday night at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

Tennessee (38-12, 13-9 SEC) jumped out to an early 1-0 in the first as Chelsea Seggern plated Aubrey Leach on a double to right. Riley Sartain evened the game for the Aggies (27-23, 5-17 SEC) as the senior belted her team-leading seventh homer of the season.

The Lady Vols regained the lead in the sixth, scoring on a double and a sacrifice fly, before adding an insurance run in the seventh.

Kendall Potts was saddled with the loss as the junior gave up two earned runs on five hits and struck out four.
