WACO, TX — Baylor men’s tennis had three selections elected to participate in NCAA individual championship action starting May 20 in Orlando, Fla.

The NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Subcommittee made the announcement Tuesday that senior Jimmy Bendeck and sophomore Sven Lah are the top overall seed in the 32-tandem doubles bracket while senior Johannes Schretter and sophomore Matias Soto are two of the 49 at-large bids into the 64-player singles bracket.

The NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships will be held at the USTA Tennis Campus May 20-25 in Orlando, Fla., following the conclusion of team championship play. All matches will be the best-of-three sets. No-ad scoring and a 7-point tiebreaker at six-games-all will be used for all matches. In doubles, a 10-point match tiebreaker will be played in lieu of a third set.

Bendeck and Lah are currently the top-ranked doubles team in the latest ITA rankings, racking up an impressive 24-5 overall record and a 12-3 record against ranked opponents this season. In singles, Schretter is 14-10 overall while Soto is 21-7.

Team competition was announced on Monday, and the Bears will host the NCAA First and Second Rounds and welcome Utah, Michigan and Dartmouth on May 3-4.

Michigan and Dartmouth begin NCAA action at 3 p.m. CT on Friday at the Hurd Tennis Center, followed by the sixth-seeded Bears and Utah at 6 p.m. CT. The two winning teams will meet in the NCAA Second Round at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
