WACO, TX — After striking out 50 percent of the batters she faced on Friday, Regan Green was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
It’s the first Big 12 weekly honor for Green in her career and the first time a Lady Bear has been honored in 2019.
In Baylor’s 5-1 win over Southern Utah in the Red Desert Classic on Friday, Green matched her career best with 11 strikeouts as she gave up one run off two hits with zero walks. It marked her fourth career double-digit strikeout performance.
The Lady Bears remain on the road over the next week as Baylor travels to San Marcos, Texas, on Wednesday to face Texas State before taking a road trip to Louisiana to battle No. 11 Louisiana and McNeese State over spring break.
