• The Lady Bears are coming off a 1-2 showing vs. then-ranked 10/7 LSU. The Tigers came into the weekend hitting .332 as a team. BU held LSU to a .187 batting average during the three-game series. The Lady Bears also held the Tigers to a total of seven runs off 14 hits.
• In Game 2 of the series, Sidney Holman [baylorbears.com] finished with 10 strikeouts. She missed tying her career mark by one but she set a new season high (previously 9 vs. North Texas). It also marked the first time all season that LSU struck out 10 times in one game.
• Also in Game 2, Josie Bower [baylorbears.com] hit her first career home run. The freshman blasted a solo shot off the light pole beyond the right field wall. She becomes the sixth Lady Bear this season to hit a homer.
• Kassidy Krupit [baylorbears.com] also went yard vs. the Tigers. Her two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning of Game 3 gave the Lady Bears the momentum they needed for the 5-1 victory. Krupit becomes the first freshman since Goose McGlaun [baylorbears.com] (11) in 2017 to hit double digit homers in a single season.
• Baylor picked up its third win of the season over a top-10 team on Saturday and its first win over LSU since 1981.
• Against the Tigers, five of Baylor's top hitters were freshmen. Ana Watson [baylorbears.com] led the group with a .625 average.
• Baylor is 14-6 when scoring first in 2019.
• The Lady Bears are 15-4 when the opponent scores two runs or less this season.
• Regan Green [baylorbears.com] was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week March 5, marking her first career Big 12 weekly award. It is also Baylor's first weekly award of the season. Green pitched a complete game in the win over Southern Utah and matched her career high with 11 strikeouts. She struck out 50 percent of the batters she faced (22). It also marked her fourth career double-digit strikeout game.
• Nicky Dawson [baylorbears.com] reached base safely in 32 straight games to start this season. That is good enough for fourth in program history behind Kaitlyn Thumann 44 (2013), Lindsey Cargill 36 (2017) and Shelby Friudenberg [baylorbears.com] 33 (2017).
