WACO, TX — The NCAA Announced the field for the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championships in Orlando, Fla. May 20-25 and Baylor sophomore Livia Kraus was selected as an alternate and will be in attendance for the championships.

Kraus produced a combined 21-11 record in her second year with Baylor, a 10-5 record in dual-match play and is ranked No. 63 in the latest ITA Singles Rankings.

“Livia has had an incredible season and is one of the most improved players in college tennis,” said Baylor head coach Joey Scrivano. “She went from playing low in our lineup as a freshman to being one of the top 60 players in the country. She’s earned the right to go to Florida and we are so proud of her as she gets a chance to compete in college’s most prestigious tournament.”

Fifteen players automatically qualified while 49 at-large selections were made by the committee. Kraus checks in as the No. 5 alternate out of eight selected to attend.

Kraus is the first Bear since Blair Shankle received an at-large selection in 2017 to be invited to the NCAA Individual Championships.
