Baylor Women's Tennis falls to No. 14 Ohio State, 5-2

COLUMBUS, OHIO — No. 14 Ohio State won doubles and took four of six matches on the singles court Sunday on the way to a 5-2 win over No. 46 Baylor.

The Buckeyes (11-2) won matches on No. 1 and No. 3 doubles and sealed the win when No. 48-ranked Kolie Allen beat Kris Sorokolet on the No. 3 singles court.

Baylor’s (5-10) Jessica Hinojosa picked up her 10th dual-match win of the season on the No. 1 court by defeating No. 64 Isabelle Boulais 1-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5). Freshman Paula Barañano out-dueled the Buckeyes’ Luna Dormet 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4) to score Baylor’s second point on the No. 4 court.

Livia Kraus took No. 72 Shiori Fukuda to three sets but fell 6-1, 6-7 (2-7), 1-0 (11-9). Ohio State moved ahead in the all-time series with Baylor, 4-3 and the Bears dropped their ninth-straight match.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Jessica Hinojosa picked up her 10th dual match win of the season over No. 64 Isablle Boulais.

• Paula Barañano improved to 4-7 on the season in dual match play with a three-set win on the No. 4 singles court.
