WACO, TX — Baylor softball received two All-Big 12 selections among the 2019 All-Big 12 Softball Postseason Awards, announced Wednesday by the conference office.

Nicky Dawson and Goose McGlaun were named to the league’s second team. This is Dawson’s first conference postseason honor, while it marks McGlaun’s third.

Dawson finished second for the Lady Bears with a .336 batting average. She led the team with 152 at-bats, 25 runs scored, 51 hits and a pair of triples to go with 12 stolen bases. Primarily BU’s leadoff hitter, Dawson started the season with a streak of 26 games where she reached base safely, tying her for fifth all-time in the program record books.

McGlaun led BU with a .341 showing at the plate, her best season average of her career. One of only three Lady Bears to start in all 49 games of the 2019 season, McGlaun led Baylor in walks drawn with 27 and a .448 on base percentage. After recording 12 starts at first base a year ago, with time also spent at third base along with a few starts in right field and at designated player, McGlaun spent most of her time at first base this season with 322 putouts, the highest mark for Baylor in the last three years.
