WACO, TEXAS — Baylor softball coach Glenn Moore announced the hiring of Leah Brown to his coaching staff Saturday afternoon. Brown, a Crawford, Texas, native, will serve as volunteer assistant coach for the Lady Bears.

“We could not be more excited to have Leah join our staff,” Moore said. “She has had success at every level of her career, from Crawford High School to an All-American at UMHB and since then as a coach. Our athletes will benefit greatly from her knowledge and energy.”

The two-time All-American at Mary Hardin-Baylor holds the all-time records in career home runs, RBI, runs, hits, total bases and slugging percentage in Cru softball history as a four-year starter at third base. Brown finished her playing career with 34 home runs, 159 RBI and a .413 batting average. She earned NFCA All-American honors as a junior and senior and was a three-time all-region and four-time All-ASC selection.

During her time at Crawford High School, Brown was a state champion and all-state softball player. She also competed in volleyball, basketball and track & field.

Brown comes to Waco after serving as a volunteer assistant coach at UMHB in 2019 and an assistant coach at UT Tyler in 2018.
