Baylor men's tennis set for NCAA Individual Championships

ORLANDO, FL — Baylor men’s tennis will have four Bears begin play at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, running May 20-25 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

Starting Monday, 25th-ranked Matias Soto will open the first round against No. 56 Gui Osorio of San Diego at 11 a.m. CT. The sophomore is 21-8 overall in singles action and has an 8-4 record against nationally ranked opponents.

Then, 20th-ranked and 9-16 seed Johannes Schretter will face No. 54 Sam Riffice of Florida to close out day one of singles action. Schretter is 16-11 overall and 11-10 against ranked foes during his senior season.

On Tuesday, the top-ranked and No. 1 seed duo of Jimmy Bendeck and Sven Lah will open the doubles bracket against No. 18 Tyler Hilderbrand and Bogdan Pavel of UCF. The tandem is 26-6 overall and 13-3 against ranked opponents this season.

The individual championships will complete one round per day, and select matches will be broadcast live on the Tennis Channel. Schretter’s opening match will be on Tennis Channel while Soto’s will be live streamed by Playsight.
