Baylor Men's Tennis' Bendeck and Lah Win Thrilling NCAA Doubles Opener

ORLANDO, FL — Baylor men’s tennis senior Jimmy Bendeck and sophomore Sven Lah used a thrilling round of 32 win to advance in the doubles draw Tuesday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

The top-seeded tandem fell down early and dropped the opening set against No. 18 Trey Hilderbrand and Bogdan Pavel but ultimately prevailed with a 4-6, 7-6(7-4), 1-0(11-9) victory on court two.

The Baylor duo improves to 27-6 on the season, good for the second-most doubles victories in a season by a single team and seventh-most all-time in Baylor history.

In singles action, sophomore Matias Soto ended his run in the round of 32 with a 6-1, 6-1 loss to No. 9-16 seed and 19th-ranked William Blumberg of North Carolina on court two.

He finishes his sophomore season with a 22-9 singles record and a 9-5 record against ranked opponents.
