POWHATAN COUNTY, VA — A sheriff's office in Virginia is praising their K-9 unit after their K-9, Bane, found two missing children within 15 minutes.

"Maintaining a K-9 program is expensive and very time consuming and that is why many agencies the size of the Powhatan Sheriff's Office do not have one," the sheriff's office said in a post. "But incidents like last night's two 8 year old children being lost in the woods are why the Sheriff keeps the program going strong."

Before calling the sheriff's office, parents and neighbors were searching for the children for 45 minutes. They called the sheriff's office before the sunset, and they brought out K-9 Bane.

Bane found the children within 15 minutes.
