Several Texas universities were ranked as a secure campus in the United States.
According to a study by Secure Life, crimes like burglary, robbery, car theft and larceny dominate campus crime reports.
Burglary alone constituted 42 percent of all crimes reported by colleges in 2016.
Baylor ranked 95 on the list of the top 100 schools in the nation as a secure campus. Texas A&M ranked 98.
Other schools like Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, The University of Texas at San Antonio and The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley ranked in the top 50.
Texas Tech and the University of North Texas ranked in the top 80.
