BUDA, TX — It's a special Veterans Day for service members and first responders. The King of Country George Strait made a stop in Central Texas to thank them for their service, and some familiar faces in Texas Country music showed up for the tribute.

Under the neon lights of the brand new Mavericks Dance Hall in Buda, George Strait sent a heart felt thank you to first responders and veterans.

A few familiar faces came to celebrate as the dance hall gets ready to open its doors.

"The last time I saw you was at Mavericks," said KXXV Anchor Lindsay Liepman.

"The other Mavericks," replied Trey Rose.

"You've been a few places since then. What have you been up to?" asked Liepman.

"A Pacific Northwest tour. We released a single, and we're going back into the studio this week and just playing music," said Rose.

Fresh off the hit show "The Voice", Rose said the response from fans has been surreal.

"I'm still playing catch up from the show. Once it aired and it was out, I thought we were ready and we were not," he said with a laugh. "I was just playing in corners of bars to being on one of the biggest TV shows and I'm still adjusting."

Roger Creager hit the stage ahead of his new album out this week with buddy Kevin Fowler.

""Dos Borrachos" was actually my idea," laughed Fowler.

Texas Voices got the first interview of the duo together.

"We were sitting in Cabo one night drinking tequila and eating tacos, and we dreamed up this idea to have an album to go with our Big Cabo Fest every year," said Fowler.

"The waiter brought our tacos for "Dos Borrachos" and were were like, there's our name," said Creager.

The friends met in Austin years ago but haven't collaborated musically until now.

"Just the fun stuff. The whole record we made in 30 days. That's super fast, and it was fun," said Fowler.

"It speaks to us. We're both fun-loving guys. Some artists are these beautiful dark souls," said Creager.

"We're so shallow. You could wade through our soul and not even get your ankles wet," said Fowler.

Creager said they don't take themselves seriously, but they work hard to make music that people can enjoy and relate to, and they always remember the service members that make that possible.

"People have their own opinions as to what it means to them. My dad is a Green Beret, and he was in Korea and Vietnam. I grew up with it instilled in my heart. Patriotism is as much a part of me as anything," said Roger.

"Dos Borrachos" comes out November 15th. The new Mavericks Dance Hall in Buda will open soon. You can find more information on their website.
