WACO, TX — The Texas Music Office is coming to Waco to talk about the "Music Friendly Communities" initiative.

It's happening Wednesday, August 28th at 7 pm at Brotherwell Brewing on 400 East Bridge Street in Waco.

Keep Waco Loud and the Waco Convention and Visitors Bureau are teaming up with KXXV 25 News to host the Texas Music Office.

Cities like Austin and Fort Worth have already completed their certification, which brings practical programs to Texas cities that help enhance the music industry.

"With support from the Texas Music Office, the Texas music industry created more than 209,000 direct and indirect permanent jobs in communities all across the Lone Star State last year and generated $23.4 billion in economic activity,” said Governor Greg Abbott. “Music Friendly Communities certified by the Texas Music Office are serious about attracting and developing local music industry growth, and I’m proud of the work of the Texas Music Office in helping communities like Waco to grow their local economy."

Watch "Texas Voices" on Central Texas News Now on Monday, August 26th at 6:30 pm to hear more about the program and how it will impact Waco's musicians, venue owners, recording studios and everyone who enjoys what a vibrant music scene has to offer.
