Texas lawmaker requests her pay be withheld until federal shutdown ends

EL PASO, Texas (KXXV) — A Texas congresswoman has requested she not be paid until an agreement to end the federal government shutdown has been reached.

Congresswoman Veronica Escobar represents Texas’ 16th Congressional District in El Paso.

Escobar sent a letter to Catherine Szpindor, Chief Administrative Officer of the U.S. House of Representatives, requesting her pay be withheld.
