AUSTIN, Texas (KXXV) — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton issued a warning to several cities in Texas on Thursday.
In a statement shared on Facebook, Paxton says he has "ordered Texas cities to halt potentially illegal property tax increases made in violation of a new Texas law." Paxton is referring to SB 1851.
The cities included are:
- La Marque
- Odessa
- Tom Bean
- Whitesboro
