AFGHANISTAN — Two soldiers have died after they were wounded during a combat-related incident in Afghanistan.
According to the Department of Defense, 20-year-old Private First Class Brandon Jay Kreischer of Stryker, Ohio, and 24-year-old Specialist Michael Isaiah Nance of Chicago were supporting Operation Freedom's Sentinel.
Pfc. Kreischer and Spc. Nance died July 29 in Tarin Kowt, Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan as a result of wounds sustained in a combat-related incident.
The DoD says the incident is under investigation.
Pfc. Kreischer and Spc. Nance were assigned to 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
