PUYALLUP, WA (KCPQ/CNN) — A family was enjoying a day at the park when they made a shocking discovery. A man discovered child porn on one of the slides at Bradley Lake Park in Washington.
Brandon was at the park with his 4-year-old niece when he made the discovery.
"Just seeing my niece mostly laugh, playing but coming to this park. It's probably never going to happen again," he said.
Puyallup police say explicit pictures of young children were found on the slide. Residue remains up top and at the bottom of the slide.
"I came over here went to go on my phone. Kind of pulled out my phone went to go sit down and there is glue residue on the sides of the 8 by 10 paper," Brandon said.
The collage contains pictures of both boys and girls.
Brandon thinks some of them were only toddlers, and he wishes he could erase what he saw last Friday.
"My brother comes and gets me and he says lets go and I was like what's wrong and his face kind of just said it all. He hands me this picture crumbled up and, uh, he goes, don't look at it. I opened it up for myself and quickly crumbled it back up in disgust and yeah,” Brandon’s sister Ashley said.
Puyallup police have assigned a detective to the case who is scouring national databases to see if the children pictured can be identified.
At the very least, the search can see if the pictures can be dated.
"No kids should have their innocence taken away like that. It's gross," Ashley said.
Police say there are no surveillance cameras at the park. Officers have been assigned to extra patrols here.
"I hope this perp gets caught and people need to keep a closer eye on their kids," Brandon said.
Police said there are no suspects at this time.
If an arrest is made, the suspect would face charges related to child pornography on both the state and federal level.
