Former 2020 candidate Julián Castro has officially endorsed Elizabeth Warren for president.

Castro announced his endorsement in a video posted on Twitter.

"There's one candidate I see who's unafraid to fight like hell to make sure America's promise will be there for everyone," Castro, who was formerly the secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the Obama administration, says in the video. "Who will make sure that no matter where you live in America or where your family came from in the world, you have a path to opportunity too. That's why I'm proud to endorse Elizabeth Warren for President."

Castro ended his run for president after the former Mayor of San Antonio failed to gain traction in the large field of Democratic candidates.

This is not the first time Castro showed Senator Warren support.

In November, he said "She has got a great team over there. She is fantastic. I think she has done a very impressive job on the campaign trail...I think right now she is doing a fantastic job of fusing her biography...with her policies."

Warren will host an event with Secretary Castro in New York on Jan. 7.
