COPPERAS COVE, TX — Copperas Cove police have arrested a woman accused of shooting at a victim, causing a standoff with officers.
Police said officers responded to a travel trailer located at a home in the 500 block of Primrose Drive early Wednesday morning.
Officers said that a victim and the suspect, identified as Genna Ferguson, were drinking in the trailer. Ferguson then asked the victim to leave the trailer. When the victim did not immediately leave, Ferguson threatened the victim and shot a round from a shotgun toward the victim.
The victim fled the trailer and called 911.
Officers tried to make contact with Ferguson, who was refusing to come outside.
After three hours of negotiation, Ferguson finally exited the trailer at 5 a.m.
She was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon - family violence. Her bond was set at $25,000.
Residents in the area were evacuated during the incident.
