WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — The Williamson County Sheriff's Office has joined the FBI's national child abduction response team.

WCSO is now a part of the FBI's National Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team. The national team is comprised of local child abduction teams made up of law enforcement officials from local, state and federal agencies.

According to WCSO, the teams receive specialized training by members of the national team, and are utilized as a first responder.

WCSO says the teams deploy at the request of a police chief or county sheriff to assist the respective agency, can be on scene in a short period of time, assist with command post operation, and more.
